Microshading is a semi-permanent makeup technique in which pigment is inserted under your skin using a manual or electric tool with needles that administer tiny, pin-like dots in a gradient pattern, creating a semi-permanent powdered effect.
The procedure is also known as "powder brows". The service is completely customizable. An ombre' effect is a popular look amongst powder brows. Pigment is applied where tail of the brow is darker and fades to a lighter shade towards the start of a brow, giving a soft natural look.
This procedure is more gentle and less invasive than microblading.
It is a perfect solution for those with sensitive or oily skin and over-plucked or light-colored brows.
Microblading uses manual blades to make hair-like strokes to the brow.
Microshading uses mostly an electric tool with tiny needles to make pin-like dots to create a transparent or opaque solid powder look. Example

Detailed instructions will be given after service.
It takes around a month for your brows to completely heal. This time is vital to ensuring long-term success. You will be advised on proper cleansers and aftercare creams to help your brows heal beautifully and to prevent infection.
Your eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle and not all of them will be very pleasing to the eye. The pigment will first appear very sharp and dark, but the color of the ink will soften gradually.
During the first few days brows may appear a little red with minor swelling (if any). In this first week it is critical that you follow your aftercare instructions. Major swelling or severe redness should be reported immediately.
2nd week: During this period, the scabs will start to flake off and your micro-shaded brows will look lighter than they are supposed to, but do not worry, it is your skin regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Your eyebrows will regain the color after some time.
4-6th week: Four to six weeks after the treatment, depending on your healing process, you may need a touch-up session. The first touch-up is done after the pigment has fully set in, which is never earlier than one month after the treatment. Its purpose is to smooth out shading and fix anything you don’t like or want to change.
Touch ups are essential for any semi-permanent makeup treatment and microshading is no different. The first revisit to your esthetician is around a month after the procedure. During this touch up, all the irregularities are fixed and shading is corrected if needed.
Note that if you're going for a light microshading effect, you may not require a final touch up. Other touch ups are not obligatory and therefore up to you.
When done properly, microshading can last years without additional touch ups. Brows naturally fade over time with your normal skin cycle.
Yes. If needed, pigment can be lifted with a lifting solution. Emergency removal is available within 48 hours after service. After 48 hours pigment has set into skin and will require treatment sessions for removal. Brows must heal (4-6 weeks) before the removal process can begin.
Removal can be a lengthy process. Several sessions may be required before pigment is completely lifted. There is a mandatory 4 week healing period in between sessions.
